Growing up, I used to read one of my mum’s books from when she was a child a lot. ‘200 Stories for Bedtime’ was written by Kathryn Jackson and illustrated by Richard Scarry, published by Golden Pleasure Books in 1963. It contains a lot of short stories, limericks and poems that have stuck with me over the years, not to mention the countless charming and thoughtful illustrations, so I reimagined a couple of my favourites for a university project about text and image.
